Do you make any other kinds of cakes besides those pictured on the website?

Absolutely. While viewing the site, please keep in mind that these cakes are examples of some of what I’ve done. It is by no means a catalog, and you are absolutely not limited to these designs. In fact, I’d like to create something that’s uniquely yours. Find the things that you like about the different designs you see and we’ll take it from there.

When can I stop by to see your work?

Hours are by appointment only. Please contact me so we can arrange a convenient time.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

Because each cake is baked fresh and made to your personal specifications, it is advisable to order wedding and celebration cakes several months in advance, especially if your event is during a busier time of year. I cannot accept orders with less than two weeks notice.

What flavors and fillings do you offer?

I can create your cake in just about any flavor you like. I offer all of the standards: chocolate, white, lemon and yellow butter cake; vanilla or chocolate Bavarian cream, butter cream, and mousse fillings; fruit fillings of all kinds. If you’d like something a little different, you can try hazelnut, carrot or banana cake, or perhaps a filling such as cappuccino mousse or white chocolate butter cream. In short, just about any flavor wish can be granted.

How much do your cakes or favors cost?

In general, tiered wedding or celebration cakes start at $3.50 per serving. Pricing for each cake is determined by both the cost of the ingredients used and the amount of labor and artistic effort involved. Cookies typically start at about $5.00 each and come wrapped in a cellophane bag with a ribbon. Pricing on these will depend on the size of the cookie and the amount of artwork involved.

Not everyone eats wedding cake. Do I have to order a cake big enough to feed everyone anyway?

Usually, but it depends on how it will be served. If you are having your wedding cake served to guests at their tables, you absolutely should have enough cake for each person to receive a slice. You cannot depend on enough people saying “no thank you” and you do not want to have your caterer come up short. If your cake will be served as part of a Viennese or dessert table, you can cut back on the amount of cake a bit. Don’t make it too small though, or while you’re cutting it your guests might wonder if there will be enough for them!

Incidentally, I have been told by more than one caterer that most guests not only eat our cakes, but some have been known to grab a second piece!
