Suzanne Kovacs began Elegant Cakes by Suzanne in 1994. Beginning with a cake decorating course more than 10 years ago, Kovacs has continued to study with pastry chefs and sugar artists from all over the United States, Canada, England and South Africa. She is a certified cake decorating instructor, teaching by arrangement for individuals, at local public schools and gourmet shops.

Suzanne has competed at the Culinary Salon of the Société Culinaire Philanthropique in New York City, where she was awarded Silver and Bronze medals. She is a member of the New Jersey Confectionary Arts Guild, where she served 2 terms as President, and is a member of the Bakers Dozen East, NYC.

An article in the February 2004 issue of NJ Savvy magazine states Suzanne Kovacs of Elegant Cakes is an "award winning independent cake artist and instructor."
